What is the Mandela Effect?
The most basic explanation is that it's when some part of reality or history has been altered in some way. In many famous instances many people remember things differently from what official history says.
How can reality change?
People have differing opinions on this: some believe that it's editing of the timeline, others think that it's dimensional shifting. Nobody knows with 100% certainty.
Why is it happening?
Again, opinion is divided. Some people think it's a natural phenomenon where others believe that it's being done deliberately with malevolent intent by our own governments. While we can't rule it out, we can't say we know for certain either.
Isn't this just a case of misremembering?
If you were talking about small numbers of people recalling things different from official history, I'd be inclined to agree with you. However when literally MILLIONS of people are all remembering things differently that what official history says, we have to ask ourselves how such vast numbers of people are misremebering. Human memory isn't 100% reliable, we all understand this, however when millions of people remember 'Luke, I am your father' including the actor, we come to an understanding that it's NOT a case of misremembering. It's not just that people are remembering things differently from official reality, it's that those of us who remember differently all remember the same detail. This is beyond the realm of probability for it to be a simple case of bad memory.
